His recent work marks a significant shift: the human figure intrudes into the stillness of his familiar interiors, disturbing their suspended calm with a heavy, unsettling presence. Yet this figure remains elusive, concealed behind a mask that both hides and opens up new interpretive dimensions. Lo Presti reworks the theme of the mask — already present in his earlier work — by projecting it into a deeper realm, where the subconscious rises to the surface and manifests almost like a visible wound. This mask does not merely conceal; it reveals, exposing the tension between inner experience and external appearance.
