Giselle Treccarichi

Giselle Treccarichi

Biography and criticism

Sicilian painter, born in Cesarò (Me) in 1973. She studied piano but has always loved painting. Her artistic journey began as a self-taught artist, and over time, she has used various painting techniques to imprint the flavors of her land and passions in each of her works. Sensitive to themes of violence, she responds with performances, installations, and brushstrokes of beauty. Everything changes in her observations and, consequently, in her works, which are never banal. She accompanies with color what comes to her as a suggestion, so that it doesn’t go unnoticed, so that it multiplies in the eyes of each viewer and takes on different forms. She works with children through artistic workshops. Her studio is located at Corso Regina Margherita, 77, Cesarò. Giselle Treccarichi’s painting stands out for its remarkable ability to transform reality into a vivid, almost tangible dream. Her work doesn’t just represent the world around us, but transforms it into a sensory experience that transcends time and space. Rooted in a careful observation of nature, her visual language evokes a sense of suspension, as if the artist captures moments that exist between reality and fantasy. While drawing from Impressionism, Treccarichi reinvents this tradition with a sensitivity that gives her works a nearly metaphysical quality. Where the landscape dissolves into light, her painting is no longer just a representation of the natural world, but an emotional and personal interpretation of reality. The artist conveys a sense of serenity and gentle melancholy, where each brushstroke feels like a breath guiding us into a suspended atmosphere. However, at times, her repeated stylistic patterns risk flattening the uniqueness of her artistic voice. Treccarichi’s art connects to Impressionism but cannot be reduced to simple imitation. Her work evolves into a dimension where reality is transformed by nostalgia and memory, giving her pieces a deeply emotional and subjective depth. Her paintings offer more than just depictions of landscapes—they lead us to a place where reality and dreams intertwine, where light is both a physical phenomenon and a manifestation of the soul. Her continuous search for balance between the visible and the invisible, the concrete and the dreamlike, makes her art fascinating. It offers us a world that is never fully defined, yet always invites new interpretations.
