Daniela Porro was born in Saronno. She attended the Brera Academy of Fine Arts and spent eight years studying art engraving at Via Albani in Milan. She also took a ceramics course at Sargadelos in Spain. The famous theater critic Ugo Ronfani wrote about her, capturing not only her artistic spirit but her soul as well: “Daniela Porro ultimately brings to life, as a whole, a theater of the female condition, which is also a representation of her way of participating, as a woman, in the realities and dreams of life. Those absolved faces, those lips parted to utter inaudible words, those hair and bodies touched by the panic of nature, and those solitudes in the palaces of celebration or in the shadows of the woods, those abandonments to dance or sleep.” It should also be said, to conclude, that Daniela Porro achieves these expressive results because, through study, she has developed a solid technique, refined with patient application, particularly in the challenging field of drypoint engraving. From this technical mastery, she derives an intense softness in her lines, the enveloping play of light and shadow, and the suspended aura of her magical realism. Daniela Porro manages to create an artistic world where the female condition is at the heart of an emotional and intense narrative. Her works, in which faces and bodies seem suspended between reality and dream, tell stories of waiting, reflection, and solitude. Her women, portrayed in moments of intimate contemplation, radiate a beauty that is not only visual but conveys a profound inner depth. Each gaze, though seemingly similar, is unique, revealing subtle and mysterious emotions. Her work stands out for its technique and sensitivity, especially in her engravings, where bold, vibrant lines alternate with plays of light and shadow that enrich the scene with an almost magical dimension. Her art goes beyond mere representation, inviting the viewer to immerse themselves in a suspended atmosphere, where time seems to stand still, leaving room for reflection and dreams. Her works are a journey into the soul, an intimate and romantic interpretation of the feminine world.
