Sarah Bellome

Biography and criticism

I was born in Como on July 14, 1997, and I live and paint in Colverde (CO) at Viale Lombardia 496. I graduated with a high school diploma in Fine Arts from the Fausto Melotti High School in Lomazzo (CO), and I earned my degree in Painting and Visual Languages at the Aldo Galli IED Network Academy of Fine Arts in Como. I started exhibiting in 2018. THE COLORS OF MY HEART “The gaze seems to see far away, through the gray clouds, across the blue sea, in the midst of the serene clouds.” I speak about myself starting with one of my poems because that is how I speak of my heart. My artistic research is made up of self-portraits. I like to portray myself because I talk about myself, about my emotions. I enjoy painting those I love; in fact, I have also painted my sisters and my parents. I love painting the faces of romantic girls, like I am, little ones with flowers in their hair, lace on their dresses, using delicate colors. I enjoy experimenting with different techniques: I create oil portraits, pencil and pastel drawings on canvas and silk. I have also started experimenting with the technique of engraving, using ceramolle and drypoint. In my works and during exhibitions, I add natural elements such as flowers and ivy (as well as lace and tulle), and I accompany my paintings with my poems. I really love painting faces and soft gazes; it is my way of expressing my world made of love, dreams, and feelings, with soft, muted colors. I have titled my exhibitions “The Colors of My Heart”. During my exhibitions, I read my poems accompanied by brief performances. My latest performance was about the embrace, precisely because my world, as I said, is centered around love. Sarah Bellome stands out for her ability to use oil painting with delicate color gradations that create a soft and refined luminosity. Her style, rich in delicate and fresh tonalities, expresses the ethereal beauty of female faces, young women who embody a symbol of youth and hope. Her works, though not without difficulty due to her disability, are a testament to a passion that transcends physical limitations. In addition to painting, Sarah is also a poet and passionate dancer, and her work reflects a dreamy world full of love and life. Her art, characterized by soft and luminous colors, carries a message of hope and love, especially on the themes of women and motherhood. Together with her family, she has also had the opportunity to exhibit in prestigious venues such as Villa Imbonati, creating a connection between art, poetry, and performance. Her work reflects a constant commitment to pursuing her dreams and overcoming challenges, supported by the love and enthusiasm of her mother.
